Robert Bookman, Agent to Cameron Crowe, Paul Greengrass, Jumps From CAA to Paradigm

Robert Bookman was at CAA for more than 20 years

Longtime CAA agent Robert Bookman, who represents clients such as Paul Greengrass, Cameron Crowe and Martin McDonagh, has joined Paradigm, the agency announced on Friday.

Bookman joins Paradigm as a senior agent on Monday, reuniting with former colleagues Ken Stovitz and Rand Holston. Stovitz just joined Paradigm from Overbook Entertainment while Holston came aboard in January 2012.

Bookman has put together deals for films such as “A Beautiful Mind, “Apollo 13” and “Silence of the Lambs" and his other clients include "My Left Foot" director Jim Sheridan and "Casino Royale" director Martin Campbell. He had been at CAA for more than 20 years, and it remains unclear which of his clients will join him at his new agency.

Known as Bookie, he began his career doing books, and still represents the Michael Crichton estate, before adding on director and screenwriter clients.

“Coming to Paradigm is the beginning of my next great life adventure,” Bookman said in a statement. “This is a very big decision for me and I took a great deal of time looking into all options.  As I did, it became very clear to me that Paradigm is the superior alternative to the corporate cultures which now dominate the agency business.  Paradigm has a wonderfully collaborative culture, focused on the core aspects of the business; movies, television, music and theatre, which is reminiscent of the early days of CAA.”
