Rolling Stone Issues Correction to Justin Bieber Abortion Quote

Magazine says quote published online was out of context

Justin Bieber's thoughts on abortion — published in an interview with Rolling Stone and excerpted online — that had the entire planet buzzing on Wednesday?

Well, the version published online left out some context, the magazine now says.

Initially, the post read:

"I really don't believe in abortion," Bieber says. "It's like killing a baby." How about in cases of rape? "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."

On Thursday, Rolling Stone published this correction:

Due to an editing error, this rollingstone.com news item originally included an incomplete quote from our Justin Bieber cover story. The actual quote, which appears in full in the March 3 print edition of Rolling Stone, reads: "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."

Sounds like the magazine was either browbeaten by Bieber's management team, or like Esperanza Spalding, threatened by irate Beliebers. Or both.

At any rate, here's what the print version, out Friday, looks like:
