Ron Burgundy Talks Sports DirecTV’s ‘Dan Patrick Show’ (Video)

ESPN nixed Will Ferrell’s scheduled “SportsCenter” appearance to cover more serious news surrounding Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston

Sports fans and “Anchorman” fans, alike, may have been disappointed to learn on Wednesday that Ron Burgundy would not be appearing on ESPN, but they can still watch him talk sports on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

Will Ferrell continued his media blitz to promote “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” by stopping by the DirecTV radio program on Thursday in his signature burgundy suit and with two dozen donuts in hand.

Burgundy read the greatest sports calls of all times, interviewed USC Coach Steve Sarkisian and held an impromptu book signing during his visit, which came after taking over Emerson College’s School of Communication on Wednesday.

Champ Kind (David Koechner), a key member of Burgundy’s news team who was also scheduled to appear on ESPN on Thursday, called in to talk about his complicated relationship with Burgundy.

“Ron’s busy, I guess. But we’re close. I’ve had many dinner appointments he just doesn’t show up to — those are usually in my house. At night,” Kind said. “We could just sleep, Ron. We don’t have to eat.”
