Rosario Dawson to Play Detective in ‘Queen of the Night’

Rosario Dawson joins Ryan Reynolds in Atom Egoyan's thriller

Rosario Dawson will star opposite Ryan Reynolds in "Queen of the Night."

Getty ImagesThe thriller is directed by Atom Egoyan, the Canadian filmmaker behind "The Sweet Hereafter" and "Exotica." It centers on the father of an abducted child (Reynolds), who becomes convinced that his daughter is still alive even though she has been missing for years. Dawson will play a detective who becomes involved in the case.

Egoyan came up with the story and wrote the screenplay with David Fraser. Shooting will begin in February in Ontario, so Dawson is probably going to want to pack some snow boots.

Other members of the cast include Scott Speedman ("Last Resort") and Mireille Enos ("The Killing").

Dawson is currently filming "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" and  will soon be seen in Diego Luna’s biopic "Chavez" with Michael Pena and America Ferrera, as well as Danny Boyle's thriller "Trance" with James McAvoy.

The film will be distributed in Canada by Entertainment One (eOne), which will also handle international sales.
