Roy Matalon Joins Nu Image as President, Int’l Sales & Distribution

The executive is a long-time friend of Nu Image principal Avi Lerner and spent 14 years at New Regency Productions

Roy Matalon, who spent 14 years as a distribution executive at New Regency Productions, has joined Nu Image as president of international sales & distribution, the company announced Friday.

At New Regency, he was senior vice president of distribution of domestic and international theatrical, home and television. From 1990 to 1996, he worked at Columbia TriStar and Twentieth Century Fox, where he was managing director of theatrical distribution in Belgium and the Netherlands and, as supervisor, in Sweden and Scandinavia.

Matalon and Nu Image principal Danny Dimbort will shop Nu Image's slate at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. The films include "Expendables 2," with Sylvester Stallone, "Straight A's," with Anna Paquin, Ryan Phillippe and Luke Wilson, "The Big Wedding," with Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried and Topher Grace, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D," with Alexandra Daddario and Scott Eastwood and "Son of No One," with Channing Tatum, Al Pacino and Katie Holmes.

Nu Image is the parent company of Millennium Films and Millennium Entertainment.
