Former Los Angeles Times Editor Sallie Hofmeister Joins Sitrick

The ex-assistant managing editor joins some former colleagues at the public relations firm

Sallie Hofmeister is the newest member of the Sitrick and Company firm.

Hofmeister left Los Angeles Times almost exactly a year ago, where she'd worked for 17 years, most recently as the assistant managing editor for arts and entertainment. She also served as the business editor at the Los Angeles and a business editor at the New York Times.

Sitrick founder, chairman, and CEO Mike Sitrick said in a press release that Hofmeister's "vast knowledge of business" and digital and social media experience will "greatly benefit both existing and new cleints."

Hofmeister pointed out that many of her new co-workers also came from the world of journalism, saying "like many of my new partners who came from journalism, I didn’t think I would ever join a PR firm, but Sitrick is not exactly a traditional or ordinary public relations firm."

At Sitrick, Hofmeister will be reunited with former LA Times colleagues Jim Bates (who exited the paper in 2007) and Thomas S. Mulligan (who left the paper in 2008).

Hofmeister will work out of Sitrick's Los Angeles office.
