Samantha Bee on Trump’s Health Care Bill: Even Worse Than ‘Suicide Squad’ (Video)

“Turns out, 13 rich white guys alone in a room isn’t how good legislation happens. It’s how ‘Suicide Squad’ happens,” she says

Samantha Bee took on the Senate health care bill on “Full Frontal” Wednesday night, breaking down the benefits of Medicaid while also discussing the true nature of the bill.

“Turns out, 13 rich white guys alone in a room isn’t how good legislation happens. It’s how ‘Suicide Squad’ happens,” she said, although she adds that it’s even worse than that.

Bee pointed out that gutting Medicaid isn’t an Obamacare repeal, but a Johnsoncare repeal, since President Lyndon B. Johnson was the one that signed the bill that resulted in both Medicaid and Medicare into law.

“It’s only 52-years-old,” said Bee. “It just joined Curves and is learning to dance like nobody’s watching.”

So what’s the real reason behind the cut? It might have something to do with Rep. Paul Ryan’s comments about wanting to get rid of it since he was drinking from a keg in college.

“Yes, while most college guys in the ’90s were fantasizing about Pamela Anderson, Paul Ryan was jerking it to thoughts of poor people losing health care to pay for tax cuts,” she said.

According to Bee, the idea of getting rid of Medicaid is absurd, not only because most people seem to like it — including Republicans — but also because so many people rely on it, including 64 percent of nursing home residents.

Fox News commentator described fixing the bill as the “legislative equivalent of landing a 747 in a suburban driveway.”

Bee agrees, although probably not in the way that Fox News wanted.

“It’s exactly like that because it’s going to be catastrophic. And most of the people affected will be women and children.”
