Samuel L. Jackson vs. Anne Hathaway: Whose Christmas Day Movie is Sadder? (Video)

The stars argue between "Django Unchained" or "Lez Misérables" in a Funny or Die "Sad Off"

"Django Unchained" and "Lez Misérables" go head-to-head at the box office on Christmas Day, so Funny or Die pitted Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway against each other in a spirited holiday debate: Which movie is the most sad, depressing and bleak?

According to Hathaway, that's easy. After all, her movie is "literally called 'The Miserable.'" But she recognizes that her opponent's "is kinda dark too."

"Interesting choice of words there, Anne," Jackson responds. "You know my movie's about slavery, right?"

"Yes, Sam. I know," Hathaway retorts. "I also know your movie isn't called 'Django Still Chained,' is it?"

Thus begins a celebrity "sad off," where no taboo topic is off limits.
