Soda bans make strange bedfellows, apparently.
Sarah Palin, a longtime critic of Hollywood's peddlers of sex and violence, agrees with New York City theater chains about one thing: People should be able to drink as much soda as they want while they watch their filth on the big screen.

She took to Twitter Monday after a judge ruled that New York City cannot enforce Mayor Michael Bloomberg's ban on sugary sodas larger than 16 ounces.
"Victory in NYC for liberty-loving soda drinkers. To politicians with too much time on their hands we say: Govt, stay out of my refrigerator!" Palin tweeted.
Not to be all media-elite nitpicky, but Palin has one detail wrong: The ban wouldn't have affected the kinds of big drinks one might buy at grocery stores to keep in the fridge. It would apply to theaters, stadiums and restaurants. (If she was speaking from the perspective of a theater, stadium or restaurant owner, I apologize.)
Bloomberg will appeal Monday's ruling, which prevented his ban from taking effect this week. Beverage industry and exhibition trade groups sued the city over the ban, arguing that the rules limited personal freedoms.
Palin, the former Alaska governor and almost-vice president, is now an occasional TV commentator and reality TV personality.
