Sarah Palin Speaks on Colorado Shootings

"Bad guys don't follow laws,"  the former Alaska governor says

Sarah Palin addressed the Colorado shootings on Tuesday, calling them a “manifestation of evil,” but said they shouldn’t have any impact on the nation’s gun laws.

The former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee talked to TheWrap at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. Her husband Todd is a contestant on the upcoming NBC reality show “Stars Earn Stripes.”  Her daughter Bristol stars in Lifetime's "Life's a Tripp."

Palin called the shooting “a manifestation of evil — very, very tragic.” She added, “I’m very sad that that happened.”

Asked whether the shooting should affect gun policy, she said, “the bad guys, the criminals, don’t follow laws and restricting more of America’s freedoms when it comes to self-defense isn’t the answer. Not when you consider what the reality is. Bad guys don’t follow laws.”

She paused when asked whether Hollywood had any involvement in the shooting, then said: “Who knows what went into that deranged shooter’s mind?"
