Scooby-Doo Barks Up Record Cartoon Network Ratings

“Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins” brought in over 6 million viewers.

A new made-for-TV film about the iconic dog and mystery-solver Scooby-Doo delivered big ratings for the Cartoon Network Monday night, becoming the most-watched telecast in the network’s history.

The live-action and CG-animated "Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins" brought in over 6 million viewers, according to preliminary overnight data from Nielsen Media Research.

The film brings Scooby and his gang of friends — Fred, Velma, Daphne, and Shaggy — back together to solve a mystery surrounding a suspicious haunting at Coolsville High. When teachers and students accuse the teens of playing a spooky prank, the teens must fight back to clear their names.

Warner Home Video will release the film on DVD and Blu-Ray Hi-Def Combo Pack on Sept. 22.
