Former financial reporter leaving journalism world and teaming up with other former writers at the public relations firm
Los Angeles-based business reporter Seth Lubove is leaving Bloomberg News and joining the public relations firm Sitrick & Co. Sitrick. Sitrick announced Lubove’s hiring on Tuesday as part of an expansion that includes eight new executives to its digital practice, including six additional new hires.
Lubove had spent more than seven years as a reporter at Bloomberg News, and he joins a team of many other former journalists.
“When I decided to leave journalism, there was only one firm I considered,” said Lubove. “I am very excited to join Sitrick, and I look forward to assisting our clients achieve their strategic communications goals.”
“I speak for everyone at the firm when I say we are very thrilled to have Seth join our team,” said Mike Sitrick, the firm’s founder, chairman and CEO. “It takes a combination of judgment and skill to succeed in this business and I am confident Seth has both. His vast knowledge of business — in the financial and corporate sector, as well as billionaires and wealth — and his experience in profiling Bill Gross of Pimco, Jeffrey Gundlach of DoubleLine, and other well-known personalities, will greatly benefit both existing and new clients.”
Last summer, the firm picked up former editor Sallie Hofmeister from the Los Angeles Times.
