Seth Meyers: Trump Doesn’t Know Anything About Health Care (Video)

“He sounds like a high school student who didn’t read the book, or have the book, or know how to read,” host says

Seth Meyers wants to remind you that President Donald Trump, despite supposedly being the biggest proponent of the new health care bill, doesn’t actually know anything about it.

In his “Closer Look” segment, Meyers showed clips of Trump talking about the bill and failing to divulge any details about it.

Trump has never been able to “articulate a convincing case for it,” he said.

“He sounds like a high school student who didn’t read the book, or have the book, or know how to read,” he quipped.

He also compared Trump to a grandma playing “Call of Duty,” in that he’s confused by the basic concepts of playing.

Of course Trump denied claims that he wasn’t engaged with the bill conversations (even if those claims came from Senators who met with him about it). He mostly just agrees with everything somebody says.

“He’s less like a CEO and more like a mall Santa,” Meyers said. “A bike? Sure. Train set? No problem. I’m not real? You guessed it.”

Either way, the Senate health care bill is one of the most unpopular pieces of legislation in recent history. A USA Today poll, for example, showed only 12 percent of Americans approve of the bill.

“His health care bill is an iPhone in a horror movie. It’s going to hit zero and everybody’s going to die,” Meyers joked.

“When you look at the winners and losers in this bill it is almost comically villainous,” he added.
