Seth Rogen Teams With Adam McKay, Ben Schwartz For Untitled Comedy

Schwartz, best known for “Parks and Recreation” and “House of Lies,” pitched the project and will star alongside Rogen

Seth Rogen is teaming up with frequent “Parks and Recreation” actor Ben Schwartz and “Anchorman” director Adam McKay for an untitled comedy based on a pitch from Schwartz.

Rogen will produce and is attached to co-star in the project, Point Grey Pictures announced in a statement with Gary Sanchez Productions and Good Universe on Thursday.

Rogen is a principal at Point Grey with Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, who will also produce alongside Gary Sanchez’s  Will Ferrell, McKay and Kevin Messick.

“Every two thousand years the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration,” Rogen said in the statement. “The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same.”

McKay went on to praise two of his collaborators, and mock the third. “Evan and Seth have been doing amazing things and we’re so excited to work with them. Ben, not so much. Most of my problems with him are personal ones, but I have to give it up … he did come up with a great idea,” he said.

Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake will executive produce with Erin Westerman overseeing for the company. Robyn Wholey will co-produce.

Seth Rogen and Point Grey are represented by UTA and attorney Fred Toczek. Schwartz is represented by WME, Lev Ginsburg at Ginsburg Daniels and Haven Entertainment.  Adam McKay is represented by WME, Mosaic and Level Four Business Management.
