Sounds like life might be imitating art in the case of “Shameless” star Ethan Cutkosky.

Cutkosky, who plays trouble-prone youth Carl Gallagher on the Showtime series “Shameless,” was arrested last week on suspicion of DUI last week, a spokesman for the Burbank Police Department told TheWrap on Tuesday.

According to police, Cutkosky was stopped just after 10:30 p.m. on November 2 for unsafe speed, an unsafe turning movement and lane straddling. Officers noticed “the distinct odor of burnt marijuana” on the 18-year-old actor, who told police that he had smoked weed earlier evening, according to the police spokesman.

Cutkosky was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI, drugs. The actor submitted to a chemical drug test, the results of which are pending as of this writing.

The actor is due in court November 29.

TheWrap has reached out to a representative for Cutkosky for comment on the arrest.
