Sharon Osbourne has spoken out in support of daughter Kelly Osbourne‘s exit from E!’s “Fashion Police.”
“.@KellyOsbourne, I am so proud of you,” the talk show host said on Twitter. “You can never be bought. You always wear your heart on your sleeve. #ProudToBeYourMum”
The younger Osbourne’s departure from the E! series was announced Friday afternoon by the network.

The move came after days of a back and forth on the TV personality’s part following Monday’s “Fashion Police.” In the episode, co-host Guiliana Rancic recapped the Oscars red carpet with her colleagues, including Kathy Griffin and Brad Goreski, and said of singer-actress Zendaya’s hair: “I feel like she smells like patchouli oil and weed.”
Osbourne, declaring herself a friend of Zendaya’s, threatened to quit the show, though she seemed to sing a different tune after Rancic made an on-air apology.
“It takes a strong women to apologize & makes a forgiving women even stronger! #ThisTooShallPass,” Osbourne tweeted Thursday.
Although the E! statement paints a picture of an amicable parting, Sharon’s tweet could suggest otherwise.
The post-Oscar episode of “Fashion Police” was Osbourne’s last and the show will resume on Friday, March. 30. A replacement for Osbourne has not yet been announced.
