Shia LaBeouf Seeking Treatment for Alcohol Addiction, Says Rep

Contrary to reports, the actor has not checked into a rehab facility, though he is receiving treatment

Shia LaBeouf has taken the first stop on the road to recovery — he’s acknowledged he has a problem with alcohol abuse.

LaBeouf’s publicist just emailed the following statement to TheWrap.

“Contrary to previous erroneous reports, Shia LaBeouf has not checked into a rehabilitation facility but he is voluntarily receiving treatment for alcohol addiction. He understands that these recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem and he has taken the first of many necessary steps towards recovery. There will be no further comments made at this time.”
