Mike Aho, whose credits include “Dance Moms” and “American Stuffers,” has been named senior vice president, factual entertainment at producer and distributor Shine America, Shine president Eden Gaha said Tuesday.
In his new gig, Aho will lead the company’s docu-series development and production efforts, identifying original stories for the U.S. market that can also be formatted internationally.

Aho most recently served as vice president of factual programming at Collins Avenue where he created, developed and ran shows including Lifetime’s “Dance Moms” franchise, Animal Planet’s “American Stuffers,” and Nat Geo’s “Meet the Hutterites.”
“Mike truly brings with him a wealth of production experience and we are thrilled to have him joining our team to help lead us into the burgeoning docu-series genre,” Gaha said.

Shine America’s programs include “The Biggest Loser” and “The Face,” along with adaptations of Shine Group formats “MasterChef” and “Minute to Win It.”
