Showtime PR Exec Licata Re-Teams With Robert Greenblatt, Joins NBC

New position will make him head of all PR for NBC Entertainment

Richard Licata has left his position as Showtime Networks' executive VP of corporate communications to join NBC Entertainment in the newly created position of EVP, Communications, NBC announced on Tuesday.

Licata will work under NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt, former president of entertainment for Showtime Networks, who joined NBC Universal in January, following Comcast's takeover of the company. In the new position, Licata will oversee all public relations for NBC Entertainment, working closely with NBC

Licata had been with Showtime since 2004.

This will actually make the third time that Licata has worked under Greenblatt; in addition to their stints together at Showtime,the two were also paired at Fox Broadcasting Company, where Licata served as Senior Vice President of Publicity and Public Relations.



“After having worked closely with Rich twice before at networks that were in challenging transitions, I’m so pleased he will be joining NBC as we look to set a new course for this company,” Greenblatt said of the hire. “I know he has the skills, the showmanship, and the passion to oversee the kind of strong and multi-faceted press and public relations campaigns needed at NBC and UMS at this moment in time.” 



In adition to Fox, Showtime and, now, NBC Entertainment, Licata has worked PR for HBO, where he served as Vice President, Media Relations/West Coast.
