Bring on the Gigolos! Showtime Releases Spring/Summer Premiere Dates

Corrupt popes, male escorts and Lisa Kudrow will populate the cable outlet’s upcoming schedule

Showtime issued its 2011 Spring/Summer programming overview on Tuesday, promising a robust season full of male escorts and popes gone wild.

"The Borgias," which stars Jeremy Irons, will debut on Sunday, April 3 with a two-hour premiere at 9 p.m. ET/PT.  The series will then air on Sundays at 10 p..m. for the remainder of its nine-epiode run.

Irons will play Rodrigo Borgia, who muscled his way into the papacy to become Pope Alexander VI and built an empire through the corruption of the Catholic church. The series is the brainchild of "The Crying Game" director Neil Jordan, who served as creator, executive producer and writer for the series.

Worlds apart but surely just as compelling is Showtime's new half-hour reality series "Gigolos," which will debut on Thursday, April 7 at 11 p.m. ET/PT. As the the title suggests, the series follows "a tight-knit group of regular Vegas guys — they hit the gym, balance relationships, provide for their families — and they just so happen to be high-end male escorts."

Rounding out the trio of new series is "Web Therapy," which stars former "Friends" actress Lisa Kudrow as Dr. Fiona Wallice, a "self-professed psychotherapist who treats patients via webcam in weekly, three-minute sessions."

The 10-episode series is due to premiere Tuesday, July 19 at 11 p.m. ET/PT and will feature numerous guests stars as Kudrow's "patients," including "Glee" actress Jane Lynch, Kudrow's former co-star Courteney Cox and Rashida Jones of "Parks and Recreation."
