“Shameless” will kick off the premiere night at 9 p.m., launching its fifth season. According to Showtime, the new season will find the Gallaghers, led by besotted patriarch Frank (William H. Macy) dealing with both the upside and downside of personal and urban renewal.  As their neighborhood begins a move towards gentrifying, the Gallagher clan begins to reconcile their chaotic past in the hopes of building a better future.

At 10 p.m., Don Cheadle returns as Marty Kaan for the fourth season of “House of Lies,” which will find Jeannie (Kristen Bell) picking up the pieces of Kaan & Associates due to Marty’s brief stint in white-collar prison. This season will feature guest stars Demetri Martin and Valorie Curry.
