‘The Simpsons’ Delivers a Crystal-Clear ‘Breaking Bad’ Spoof in Opening Skit (Video)

Homer goes Heisenberg and Marge gets cooking in animated homage of the AMC series.

Something's cooking on "The Simpsons" for this Sunday's episode, and it smells pretty bad — "Breaking Bad," that is.

With AMC's hit meth drama "Breaking Bad" preparing to return for its final run of episodes, "The Simpsons" pays homage to the series in its opening sequence on Sunday.

To the strains of Tommy James & the Shondells' "Crystal Blue Persuasion" — which played a pivotal part in the most recently aired episode of "Breaking Bad" — Marge dons a "Kiss the Cook" apron and bakes up a batch of blue (naturally) cupcakes, as Homer does his best Heisenberg impression.

Baking bad, anyone?

The tribute is topped off with a cameo from "Breaking Bad" stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. (Fun fact: Cranston has actually been on "The Simpsons" before, voicing the character Stradivarius Cain in the Season 23 episode "The Spy Who Learned Me.")
