Singer Ray Price's Death Reported in Error by His Son, Family Confirms (Corrected)

The incorrect posting was accidentally published early on Facebook, prompting some media outlets to prematurely report his passing

Reports of singer Ray Price's death that hit the internet Sunday were incorrect, his family confirms.

The Country Music Hall of Fame member, is indeed still alive in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, continuing his tough battle with pancreatic cancer.

The death of Price, one of country's biggest stars from the 1950s through the 1970s, was first reported by CMT News  then subsequently picked up by other media outlets — including TheWrap. We deeply regret the error.

Rolling Stone spoke to Price's wife, who said their son made a mistake and posted the news too early.

More to come…

Thank you for the music. I remember singing along with you in good times or bad… There was always a Ray Price song that helped.
Rest well and know you are remembered.
