Drug-sniffing hound rats rapper out in moment of law-enforcement irony

Snoop Dogg, caught carrying weed? What, was it a day that ended in "Y" or something?

The bust occurred sometime after 3 a.m. Saturday in the town of Sierra Blanca — the same town in which country singer Willie Nelson was arrested for possession in 2010 — according to a release furnished to TheWrap.

The arrest occurred after a drug-sniffing dog detected marijuana on Broadus' tour bus, after which border-patrol agents found a red prescription bottle containing multiple joints.Agents subsequently found two other containers with marijuana. All told, agents found .130 pounds of pot on Snoop's bus, according to the sheriff's department.

Snoop, 40, admitted to owning the marijuana, and was arrested by U.S. border patrol agents. Hudspeth County Sheriff Department personnel subsequently arrived on the scene and cited Snoop for possession of drug paraphernalia and released.

The rapper reportedly has a prescription for medical marijuana in his native California, but Texas offers no such amenities.

This is far from Snoop's first drug-related arrest — the rapper (born Calvin Broadus) has been popped no fewer than four separate times for carrying weed.

The rapper's spokesperson has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.
