‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ Teaser Shows First Footage of Spinoff Movie (Video)

The minute-and-a-half clip gives us the first footage we’ve seen of the “Star Wars” spinoff

UPDATE: The full first trailer for “Rogue One” has landed, after making its debut on “Good Morning America” Thursday morning. You can watch it above right now.

ORIGINAL POST: The first actual trailer for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will hit us in the face Thursday morning on “Good Morning America,” which airs on ABC starting at 4 a.m. PT.

In the meantime, Disney and Lucasfilm handed over about a second of footage — the first we’ve seen thus far — and some TIE Fighter sound effects in a trailer for the trailer.

“Rogue One” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker and Diego Luna.

The movie follows a ragtag team attempting to steal the plans for the first Death Star prior to the events of “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.”

“Rogue One” is scheduled for release on December 16, 2016.
