Stephen Colbert Offers ‘Definitive Guess’ on ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Plot (Video)

Peace will return to the galaxy — but it’s a bit confusing as to how exactly

Stephen Colbert knows precisely what is going to happen in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” — and all he needed was one trailer and like 38 years of nerding out.

“It has been three decades since the events of the original trilogy,” Colbert began on Wednesday’s show. “The dark and mysterious First Order has stepped into the power vacuum once held by the Empire.”

“The newly named Resistance fights in place of the Rebel Alliance, which has begun a tragic drift to the Dark Side,” the “Late Show” host continued. “But John Boyega‘s character is in a Stormtrooper suit, so it follows that now the new New Hope comes from the very enemy we’ve been trained to hate.”

Colbert rambles on from there as the CBS camera continues tightening on his face.

In summation, dark will become light, and light becomes dark. Through it all, peace will be returned to the galaxy, per the comedian and film franchise superfan.
