The series from “Battlestar Galactica” bigwig Ronald D. Moore will premiere next year
Worried that the week might get away from you without delivering some hunk-in-a-kilt action? Fear not; Starz is here to meet your needs.
The cable network has issued its first look at Scottish actor Sam Heughan in the lead role of Jamie Fraser in the upcoming Starz series “Outlander.”
Adapted from Diana Gabaldon's series of bestselling novels, “Outlander” follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Fraser, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, Claire becomes torn between her two lives.
The cast also includes Graham McTavish (“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”), Gary Lewis (“Gangs of New York”) and Caitriona Balfe (“Super 8”) as Claire Randall.
In production in Scotland, “Outlander” — from “Battlestar Galactica” executive producer Ronald D. Moore — will premiere in 2014. Until then, check out the first look and let us know in the comments section: How 'bout those gams on Heughan, huh?
