HBO released an awkwardly funny 21-second teaser for Season 1 of its new comedy series “Hello Ladies” on Sunday.
The clip opens with the title phrase, as Stewart (Stephen Merchant) and his best mate Wade (Nate Torrence) try to introduce themselves to a pair of gals at a bar.
The quick cut of the scene closes on an abortion joke. Who knew the landmark "Roe v. Wade" case could be so funny? Probably not the two women that the guys were trying to pick up.

Here’s the overly simplified "Hello Ladies" storyline from iMDb: A gawky (Merchant is 6 foot-7) Englishman (and English) comes to Los Angeles to find the woman of his dreams.
Merchant is the co-creator of “The Office” and “Extras.” "Hello Ladies" stems from his stand-up special of the same name.
