Steve Carell was strongly disliked for lying about his appearance on "The Office" finale, the actor told Jay Leno on Wednesday.
"People hated me," said Carell.
"'You jerk!'" he heard from others. "You owe that show everything and you're not going back — You jerk!'"

Leno playfully took the now-movie star to task for lying to his face previously about the cameo.
So why did Carell play it that way?
"We thought it would be fun, but everybody was complicit in it," the man behind Michael Scott said. "We were all accomplices and there was a lot — a lot — of lying."
Apparently Carell is quite the liar, so he tried this one out on Leno on Wednesday:
"You know something, if you drink your own urine, you will become more intelligent," Carell straight-faced to Leno. "Swear to God."
