Steve Martin Proposes to Alec Baldwin as Stars Celebrate N.Y. Gay Marriage Vote

Baldwin accepts Martin’s proposal on Twitter

New York's approval of same-sex marriages set off a flurry of Twitter mock-proposals and celebrations from Hollywood stars.

“Marriage equality…. vote yes,” Alec Baldwin tweeted before same-sex marriages were signed into law Friday.

Steve Martin, his Oscars co-host and "It's Complicated" co-star, later responded: "Alec! Now we can get married!"

Baldwin accepted, with reservations: "Ok. But if you play that effing banjo after eleven o'clock…."

Lance Bass also mock-proposed to Bravo executive Andy Cohen, who responded, "Yes and I want an #nsync reunion at the party. Pleeeeease??"

Neil Patrick Harris, meanwhile, said he was planning real-life nuptials — and that he and his partner have been engaged for five years.
