Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’: The Poster

Another look at Daniel Day-Lewis' take on the president

Ready for another look at Daniel Day-Lewis as President Lincoln? The promotional machine behind Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" is happy to provide.

The new promotional poster for the November film conjures every detail of Lincoln as we imagine him: He has a thoughtful, melancholy look, a beard shaped almost into a ball, and enough wrinkles to suggest experience.

The drama focuses on the 16th President’s final months in office, as the Civil War draws to a close and an assassin plots to end his life. It also stars Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader, Hal Holbrook and Tommy Lee Jones.

“Lincoln” is produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy, with a screenplay by Tony Kushner, and is based partly on “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

The DreamWorks Pictures/Twentieth Century Fox film, in association with Participant Media, will premiere Nov. 9 and expand Nov. 16.
