While appearing on Canadian entertainment show "eTalk," the Aerosmith frontman made it clear he didn't intend to antagonize his "American Idol" replacement by saying she would have sent an auditioning Bob Dylan "to the cornfield." He also made it clear that doesn't believe his statement was racist and it's entirely her fault for interpreting it that way.

"I apologize if it was taken wrong, Nicki," his rebuttal began. "I'm the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don't know where she got that from out of me saying, 'I'm not sure how she would have judged Bob Dylan.'"

He continued to clarify the comments he made to MTV News by adding, "I was just saying if Bob Dylan came on the show, he would have been thrown off."

The rocker's assumption angered Minaj so much on Monday that she tweeted, "You assume that I wouldn't have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f— yourself and worry about yourself babe."

In a more personal attack, she made an assumption of her own and wrote, "I understand you really wanted to keep your job but take that up with the producers. I haven't done anything to you. That's a racist comment."

Not according to Tyler. Turning toward the camera to speak to his accuser directly, he concludes, "A racist I'm not, Nicki."

She has yet to tell the 64-year-old to go f— himself on Twitter, so maybe she believes him.
