WGA and AMPTP Set to Start Talks on Thursday

With current agreement winding down, Writers Guild and producers alliance finally set a date to sit down at the bargaining table

Well, that's a good sign … right?

The Writers Guild of America West and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers jointly announced Tuesday that they'll begin negotiations on a new contract on Thursday.

The current agreement expires May 1.

Tuesday's announcement answers a question that had been percolating since Feb. 4, when nearly 97 percent of the WGA voting body approved the guild's "Pattern of Demands" for the upcoming talks.
