Christopher Meloni Meets Patton Oswalt as a Flying Horse in First ‘Happy!’ Trailer (Video)

Syfy series is based on the New York Times best-selling graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson

Have you ever wanted to find out what happened to Elliot Stabler after he left “Law & Order: SVU?” Here’s one idea.

Syfy released the first trailer for its upcoming series “Happy!” starring Christopher Meloni on Friday — and if it’s any indication, Stabler is about to get into some serious trouble.

“Happy!” (with the exclamation point) tells the story of Nick Sax (Meloni), a former cop turned hit man who lives in a world of drugs, booze and betrayal. At one point, he even briefly dies after a hit gone wrong. However, when he wakes up he can see an imaginary, flying blue-winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt) who tasks him with saving a girl named Haley.

The series is based on the New York Times best-selling graphic novel of the same name by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson. The trailer is sure to mention that “graphic” has a double meaning here, since the series is violent and bloody.

Executive producers Morrison (“The Invisibles”) and Brian Taylor (“Crank”) co-wrote the pilot teleplay. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty and Toby Jaffe of Original Film (“The Fast and the Furious” franchise), Meloni and showrunner Patrick Macmanus will also executive produce, and Taylor directed.

Watch the full trailer above, but be warned that it’s a little NSFW (not safe for work).

The series premieres on Dec. 6.
