'Teen Wolf' Finale Scores 2.3 Million Viewers

The MTV thriller's season-ender also won the night for the youth-skewing network demo

MTV's “Teen Wolf” Season 3 finale earned 2.3 million viewers on Monday and was the No. 1 cable program for teen viewers.

The series also scored a 2.0 rating with its younger-skewing key demographic viewers between the ages of 12-34.

The finale's viewership was just slightly lower than its premiere episode in January, which scored a record 2.4 million total viewers and a 2.3 rating with the key demo.

“Teen Wolf's” season-ender also popped on social media. It generated 855,000 tweets and 52 national and worldwide trending terms.

Spoiler Alert! Monday's episode followed the huge death of one of the series’ original characters, hunter Allison Argent (Crystal Reed). The season finale picked up from there and even brought back another Argent — Kate Argent (Jill Wagner).

2.3 million would be a low average for a larger network with a less teen skewed audience. It is somewhat telling that a MUCH hyped finale scored LESS than the season premiere.

I was just wondering that, too. A count of 2.3 million sounds pretty low when compared to the larger networks, and I'm pretty sure other paranormal shows like “Buffy” and “Supernatural” have blown those numbers out of the water in the past. With the loss of so many actors/actresses, poor writing, incoherent plot, tons of new flat characters, and many other stuff, I think a lot of viewers and fans have left the show. Season 3 was very disappointing and I bailed after the first few episodes.
