Ratings: ABC Wins Key Demo Red Rose With ‘The Bachelor’

CBS takes total-viewer victory despite airing just reruns

“The Bachelor” charmed ABC to a victory in the key 18-49 demographic last night, when the broadcast networks still had cable competition from ESPN’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

CBS actually topped total viewers on Monday, despite airing just reruns. Also in the repeat-only game across primetime were Fox and the CW.

ABC was first in ratings with a 1.6 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demo and second in total viewers with an average of 5.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Bachelor” at 8 p.m. ET had a 1.9/6 and 6.9 million viewers. At 10, the aftershow got a 1.0/3 and 3.9 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 1.4/4 and first in viewers with 7.6 million.

NBC was third in ratings with a 1.1/3 and in viewers with 3.8 million. “Superstore” at 8 p.m. ET drew a 1.5/5 and 5.4 million viewers. At 8:30, “Telenovela” posted a 1.0/3 and 3.6 million viewers. “The Biggest Loser” at 9 had a 1.1/3 and 3.5 million viewers.

Fox and Univision tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.9/3. Fox was fourth in total viewers with 2.5 million, and Univision was fifth with 2.3 million.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.8/2 and in viewers with 2 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in viewers with 1.3 million.
