Rachel Lindsay Finale bachelorette

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Monday’s finale of “The Bachelorette”)

“The Bachelorette” Rachel Lindsay has given out her final rose, and has found a fiance in Bryan Abasolo.

Heading into the finale on Monday, three men were left standing: Abasolo, Eric Bigger, and Peter Kraus. Kraus and Abasolo were frontrunners from the first episode onwards, but Bigger captured Lindsay’s heart more and more throughout the season. However, he was sent home because Rachel said she loved him, but wasn’t in love with him.

Lindsay’s final date with Abasolo was a hot air balloon ride, where Abasolo gifted her a homemade Spanish dictionary and told her she’d make a mistake if she didn’t choose him.

Her date with Kraus was still as intense as the previous couple dates, with Lindsay still unsure where Kraus stood. Throughout the last few weeks of the season, he had told her he wanted to be with her but wasn’t ready to propose. During the final date, he said he wasn’t afraid of marriage itself but afraid of multiple proposals, and wasn’t sure whether she was the one. Even their last few moments together were filled with tears.

Before a very emotional goodbye, Kraus told Lindsay he would propose if she needed him to show how serious he was, but that’s not what Lindsay wanted — she wanted him to propose because he himself wanted to marry her. And with that, they broke up.

Their reunion during the live show was anything but cute — even before he came out on the stage, he admitted he was “terrified” of seeing Lindsay again. And after some back and forth, she then told him she is “living my best life.”

Lindsay and Abasolo reunited in the beautiful countryside of Spain. Unfortunately, the weather was anything but kind to the proposal scene — but that didn’t stop Abasolo from getting down on one knee and proposing to Lindsay.

“My heart has never been more confused than it has been this week,” she told him. “I’ve always been drawn to the excitement of gambling my feelings on the complicated relationships. … That’s why when I met you, it just seemed to perfect. I was trying to find cracks in what seemed like the perfect foundation.

“I’ve really had to do some soul searching, deeper than I ever have before, to find the courage to challenge myself. But this love has been so mature, it’s tested me in ways I couldn’t have even imagined. … Right here, in this moment, standing with you, I see my forever,” she concluded.
