The crossover between The CW’s “The Flash” and CBS’ “Supergirl” got a little more real Tuesday night when the Kryptonian was glimpsed briefly during an episode of “The Flash.”
The long-rumored crossover was recently made official, with Grant Gustin set to play speedster Barry Allen on an episode of the CBS superhero drama.
Gustin will appear in the “Supergirl” episode set to air on Monday, March 28.
But before that, Melissa Benoist‘s Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, was briefly seen flying in tonight’s episode of “The Flash,” alongside sightings of other alternate versions of DC comic book characters.
Since the quick glimpse was seen during a moment of breach in the multiverse, it would seem that the theory that “The Flash” and “Supergirl” exist in different universes is spot-on.
“If we were to ever do [a crossover], we would have to explain why no one on ‘Arrow’ or ‘Flash’ or ‘Legends’ have ever mentioned that Superman exists,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, who works on both shows, previously told TheWrap. Barry and Kara existing in different universes would certainly be one way of explaining that.
“Supergirl” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and “The Flash” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
