The first season isn’t over, but CBS All Access is picking up its exclusive show “The Good Fight” for a second season, set to premiere in early 2018.

“We’re only a few episodes into the first season and the reaction from CBS All Access subscribers and critics alike has been phenomenal,” said CBS Interactive President Marc DeBevoise. “This series and its characters are just beginning and we can’t wait to see where Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the amazing cast take ‘The Good Fight’ next.”

“The Good Fight” picks up one year after the events of “The Good Wife” finale and stars Christine Baranski as Diane Lockhart. Her reputation as a lawyer has been ruined after a giant financial scam linked to her goddaughter Maia Rindell (Rose Leslie). With no savings and no job, she’s forced to work for Lucca Quinn (Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.

Delroy Lindo, Erica Tazel, Sarah Steele and Justin Bartha also star.

“The Good Fight” is only available to watch on CBS All Access, which is the network’s subscription streaming service, although the premiere episode also aired on CBS.
