Bilbo Baggins is relocating from Middle Earth to the middle of nowhere.

Martin Freeman, who plays Baggins in “The Hobbit” movie series, has been tapped for FX’s upcoming series “Fargo,” based on the Coen Brothers’ 1996 film.

Freeman will play Lester Nygaard, an insurance salesman who has seen better days, is henpecked by his wife, and whose life is changed forever when mysterious stranger Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton) comes to town.

The 10-episode series will feature new characters, as opposed to the ones featured in the Coen Brothers’ film. However, according to FX’s John Landgraf, the series will be “remarkably true” to the film.

“Fargo” is expected to premiere in the spring.
