‘The Returned’ Star Rhys Ward Joins Billy Burke, Maddie Hasson in ‘Good After Bad’ (Exclusive)

Anne-Marie Hess is writing and directing the movie, which boasts Morgan Spurlock as an executive producer

“The Returned” star Rhys Ward has booked a key supporting role alongside Billy Burke, Maddie Hasson and Melora Walters in the indie drama “Good After Bad,” which is being executive produced by Morgan Spurlock, TheWrap has learned.

Anne-Marie Hess is writing and directing the film, which Matthew Leutwyler is producing under his Accelerated Matter banner. Spurlock is executive producing via his Warrior Poets banner.

Burke and Hasson play Wes Thorne and Shelly Ackerman — two people living in opposite worlds. Shelly’s mother (Walters) is off her medication so her home life is in shambles and she’s being bullied at school. Wes is an eccentric, wealthy man who has deep-seated issues with women and no close friends. When Wes offers to be Shelly’s legal guardian, both of their lives take a dramatic turn.

Ward will play Shaine, a cocky young hipster and self-centered bad boy who meets Shelly at a rock concert and toys with her emotions.

Ward is a Canadian actor who was a regular on the A&E series “The Returned” and recurs on the CW’s “iZombie.” He recently landed a lead role in the indie movie “The Happys” and wrapped the feature film “Swipe,” which was directed by Leutwyler. He’s represented by Innovative Artists, Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management and Canadian agent Doug Patterson.
