‘The Tick’ Returns in First Trailer for Amazon Prime Revival (Video)

The series is set to debut Aug. 25

Will you answer the call of Destiny? The first trailer for the new Amazon Prime series “The Tick,” an adaptation of the cult comic series and the one-season show from 2001, hit the internet Wednesday.

Peter Serafinowicz takes over the cowl from Patrick Warburton in the series, which follows an accountant Arthur (“Griffin Newman”) who ends up becoming the Tick’s sidekick. As Arthur works to uncover a conspiracy surrounding his city — and how it’s run by a supervillain — he has to figure out if he should pick up the call to destiny.

Destiny factors quite a bit in the trailer. While most of the focus is on the Tick himself as he uses his super strength and bulletproof exterior to fight villains, Arthur has to come to terms with his new identity as a superhero sidekick. He also has to figure out how his wings work.

“This is an epic tale, rife with destiny, adventure, blood loss and good against evil!” the narrator announces.

“Destiny’s on the line Arthur, accept the charges,” the Tick tells Arthur, while they’re apprehending a suspect.

The show also stars Valorie Curry, Jackie Earle Haley, Yara Martinez, Brendan Hines, Scott Speiser and Michael Cerveris.

“The Tick” is set to hit Amazon Prime on Aug. 25. The first six episodes of Season 1 will air then while the second six will air sometime in early 2018.

“The Tick” was one of three pilots picked up by the streaming service in 2016, along with “I Love Dick,” which debuted in May and “Jean-Claude Van Johnson,” which doesn’t have a release date yet.
