‘The View’ Hits 3-Year Viewership High With Season Premiere Week

Revamped talk show averages 3.4 million viewers during first week back on air

Apparently change is good for “The View.”

The ABC yak-fest, which premiered its 18th season last week after bringing in new panelists Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace, along with returning personality Rosie O’Donnell — got a solid ratings boost in its first week back on the air, leading to its most-watched premiere week in three years.

For the week, “The View” averaged 3.4 million total viewers — a 13 percent bump over last season’s premiere week, and its best premiere week since 2011.

The season premiere of “The View” on Sept. 15 grabbed 3.9 million total viewers — a 20 percent jump over last season’s premiere and the largest audience for a “View” season premiere in eight years.
