Theo James, Jack Reynor and Eric Bana Join Rooney Mara in ‘The Secret Scripture’

Jim Sheridan is directing the film also starring Vanessa Redgrave and Jeremy Irons

Eric Bana, Theo James and Jack Reynor are in talks to join Jim Sheridan‘s “The Secret Scripture” starring Rooney Mara, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Mara and Vanessa Redgrave play the younger and older version of the same character, Roseanne, who’s nearing her 100th birthday inside a mental institution. When she decides to write an autobiography, the mysteries of her past are unlocked with troubling secrets shaking loose. Bana will play Roseanne’s psychiatrist, James a Catholic priest, and Reynor the younger Rosanne’s love interest.

Jeremy Irons also stars. Johnny Ferguson adapted the screenplay from Sebastian Barry’s novel of the same name.

James is currently reprising his role as Four in “Divergent” sequel “Insurgent.” Reynor broke out playing the new younger male lead in Michael Bay‘s “Transformers: Age of Extinction.” Bana was most recently seen in “Deliver Us from Evil.”

All three actors are repped by WME. James is also repped by Markham Froggatt and Irwin, and Bana is with Robert Offer at Sloane Offer.
