Based in Los Angeles, Nancy Daniels will assume the cable channel’s high-ranking post and report to Discovery and TLC Networks group president Eileen O’Neill.
“Nancy is a talented creative executive, a motivating team leader, and a risk-taking problem solver, with a track record of success that makes her a perfect fit to lead the TLC brand forward,” said O’Neill in a statement.
“Her previous success at TLC, combined with her leadership roles at both Discovery Channel and Discovery Fit & Health, gives her the ability to jump right in and continue TLC’s growth and pop culture domination.”
In her new position, Daniels will oversee programming, production, development, marketing and new media for the network.
Daniels most recently served as the executive vice president of Discovery Channel’s production and development. She previously held the position of senior vice president of TLC’s production and development where she supervised the launch of “Cake Boss,” “Little Couple,” “Sister Wives,” and “Sarah Palin’s Alaska.” She has been with Discovery Communications since 2007.
Previously, she served as vice president of alternative series development at CBS.
Amy Winter stepped down as TLC’s general manager in late-August. She continues with the company as its executive vice president of brand marketing.
