NBC Recruits ‘Today’s’ Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie to Host ‘Golden Globes Arrivals Special’

The “Today” show hosts are likely going to need a nap by Monday afternoon.

Early morning personalities Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales and Carson Daily are hosting NBC’s “Golden Globe Arrivals Special” on Sunday. The red carpet interview show will run just prior to the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, which celebrates achievements both in film and on television.

This year’s Golden Globes broadcast is hosted for the third consecutive year by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and will be broadcast live coast-to-coast from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

George Clooney is this year’s recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille award, chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s Board of Directors. Actress Greer Grammar, daughter of Kelsey Grammar, is this year’s Miss Golden Globe.

This year’s Globes will be seen in more than 160 countries worldwide. The special will be produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the HFPA.

Theo Kingma, Allen Shapiro, Michael Mahan, and Barry Adelman will executive-produce the special.

The Golden Globes air Sunday, Jan. 11 at 8-11 p.m. ET/5-8 PT on NBC. The pre-show begins at 7-8 p.m. ET/4-5 PT.
