Tom Cruise might be licking his wounds in real life after Katie Holmes filed for divorce, but on the big screen he's the one dispensing the pain.
Cruise plays the titular badass in the upcoming Paramount thriller "Jack Reacher," starring as an ex-service member who has to unravel the mystery of a sniper who's been accused of killing five people.

As evidenced by the international trailer for the film, Cruise takes to the challenge with zeal, dispensing the hurt while completing his mission.
The film, which is based on the Lee Child novel "One Shot," is scheduled for a Dec. 21 release.
