Watch Tom Hiddleston Sing as Hank Williams at a Music Festival (Video)

Loki, but not off-key

Soon after the film was announced in June, there were murmurs coming from country music fans that director Marc Abraham made a mistake in casting British thespian Tom Hiddleston as the legendary Hank Williams in the upcoming biopic “I Saw The Light.”

The “Avengers” actor looked to mollify the critics, telling The Daily Mail, “It’s a huge role for me and a huge responsibility. I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.”

Over the weekend, Hiddleston proved that, at the very least, he’s most definitely going the extra mile to make a credible Singing Kid.

Above, check out video of Hiddleston singing a medley of Williams’ hits at the Wheatland Music Festival in Remus, Michigan. He’s joined on stage by country singers Sarah Jarosz and Rodney Crowell, who seem to have no problem ceding the spotlight to the God of Mischief.

Seems as if the classically trained theater actor can do a pretty decent Hillbilly Shakespeare.
