“Toni Erdmann,” a German comedy-drama that’s picking up Oscar buzz, swept every major category at Saturday’s European Film Awards in Wroclaw, Poland.

The movie won Best Film and Best Screenplay, while Maren Ade was named Best Director and stars Sandra Huller and Peter Simonischek were presented with trophies for Best Actress and Best Actor.

“Toni Erdmann” beat out Ken Loach’s “I, Daniel Blake,” which took home the Palme D’Or at this summer’s Cannes Film Festival. But, on Saturday, Ade’s movie won in every category in which it was nominated.

The movie is Germany’s official entry for best foreign-language film in the upcoming Academy Awards. “Toni Erdmann” will be released in the U.S. on Dec. 25, distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.
