‘Treme’ Picked Up for Third Season by HBO

David Simon’s post-Katrina drama gets the greenlight for round three

HBO's post-Katrina drama "Treme" has been renewed for a third season, the cable outlet confirms to TheWrap.

The series, which was created by "The Wire" collaborators David Simon and Eric Overmyer, chronicles the efforts of a New Orleans neighborhood to rebuild following the devastating wreckage of Hurricane Katrina. Khandi Alexander ("CSI: Miami") and Rob Brown ("Stop-Loss") co-star.

A critical favorite, the series, which premiered last April, was renewed for a second season after airing one episode, based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews.
